How to Install IPTV on Chromecast with Google TV
Install IPTV Smarters on a Chromecast with Google TV using the Play Store or Downloader code 250931, plus how to handle the storage limit on the HD model.
Before you begin
- A Chromecast with Google TV, either the 4K or HD model
- A Google account signed in on the device
- Your Apollo Group TV access details
Downloader code
250931
Type this code into the Downloader app instead of a full web address, then press Go. It fetches the IPTV Smarters installer directly — no typing out a long URL on a remote control.
Step-by-step setup
- 1
Allow unknown sources
Open Settings, then System, then About, and click the Android TV OS build number seven times to unlock Developer Options. Go back to Settings, then System, then Developer Options, and switch on Apps from Unknown Sources.
- 2
Install IPTV Smarters
Search the Play Store for IPTV Smarters first. If your region does not list it, install Downloader instead, grant it permission under Apps from Unknown Sources, then enter the code 250931 in its URL field and press Go.

Free up space before you start
The HD model ships with very little usable storage and will refuse installs once full. Uninstall anything you do not use, and delete the installer file from Downloader as soon as the app is installed.

Sign in and set your preferences
Open IPTV Smarters, add a new user with the details from your activation email, then enable hardware decoding in the settings. Use the Google TV phone app as a keyboard rather than the remote.
Tips for this device
- The 4K model handles 4K streams comfortably. The HD model is capped at 1080p regardless of the source, so do not expect 4K from it.
- There is no ethernet port on the dongle itself. An adapter that combines power and ethernet is inexpensive and worth buying if buffering is an issue.
- Google TV reserves memory for its own recommendations row. If the app feels sluggish, restarting the device clears it.
If something does not work
Most problems at this stage come down to a typo in the credentials or an interrupted first sync. Re-enter the details carefully, watching for capital letters and trailing spaces, then let the guide finish loading before touching anything.
If playback starts but stutters, work through the buffering diagnostic guide. If you are not sure whether your connection is fast enough, the speed guide has the numbers. Still stuck? Contact support with your device model and what the screen says.
