How to Set Up IPTV on an LG Smart TV (webOS)
Install IPTV Smarters on an LG webOS television from the LG Content Store, with no extra box required. Includes what to do when the app is not listed in your region.
Before you begin
- An LG television running webOS, from roughly 2017 onward
- The television connected to the internet
- Your Apollo Group TV access details
Step-by-step setup

Open the LG Content Store
Press Home on the LG Magic Remote and select LG Content Store from the launcher bar along the bottom of the screen. You may be asked to sign in with an LG account the first time.

Find IPTV Smarters
Open the Apps section and search for IPTV Smarters. Install it. If nothing comes up, your regional store may not carry it. In that case contact support, who can tell you which alternative webOS player to use with your subscription.

Note the device key
Launch the app. Most webOS builds display a device key or MAC address on first run rather than a login form. Copy it down carefully, dashes included.

Link your subscription
Use whichever method your activation email specifies: entering the portal address and credentials in the app, or registering the device key with support so it is tied to this television.

Reload and start watching
Restart the app once your details are saved. The guide populates on first load and is quicker thereafter.
Tips for this device
- The Magic Remote pointer makes typing credentials far less painful than a Samsung directional pad. Use it rather than arrowing across the keyboard.
- webOS suspends background apps aggressively. If playback stalls after switching inputs, reopen the app rather than waiting for it to recover.
- Wire the television with ethernet where you can. It removes the single most common cause of buffering.
If something does not work
Most problems at this stage come down to a typo in the credentials or an interrupted first sync. Re-enter the details carefully, watching for capital letters and trailing spaces, then let the guide finish loading before touching anything.
